What is Semi-Permanent Makeup (SPMU)?
SPMU involves enhancing certain features like eyebrows, lips, or eyeliner using pigments that gradually fade over time. It's a great way to save time on daily makeup routines!
Does it hurt?
It's normal to feel a little discomfort during the SPMU procedure, but most people find it tolerable. Numbing creams are often applied to minimize any pain. Everyone's pain tolerance is different, so it can vary from person to person. But don't worry, the end result is usually worth it!
How long does SPMU last?
SPMU typically lasts around 1 to 3 years, but it can vary depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Over time, the pigment will gradually fade, and you may need touch-ups to maintain the desired look. It's a great way to have long-lasting results without the daily hassle of applying makeup!
What is the healing process like?
The healing process for SPMU can vary from person to person, but there are some general things to expect. After the procedure, the treated area may appear slightly swollen, red, or tender. You might also experience some scabbing and flaking as the skin heals. It's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the technician to ensure proper healing and to avoid any complications. Remember, patience is key during the healing process!
Can I still wear regular makeup with SPMU?
Absolutely! You can still wear regular makeup with SPMU. In fact, SPMU can enhance your natural features and serve as a base for your makeup. You can still apply foundation, eyeshadow, and other cosmetics if you want to change up your look for special occasions or just for fun. SPMU gives you the freedom to have a beautiful, low-maintenance base to work with!
However, keep in mind that this can be done ONLY AFTER THE AREA IS HEALED, during the healing process you should avoid applying makeup.
Are there any risks or side effects?
While semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) is generally safe, there are some potential risks and side effects to be aware of.
These can include:
- Allergic reactions to the pigments or numbing creams used
- Infection if proper hygiene and aftercare instructions are not followed
- Skin irritation, redness, or swelling
- Uneven or patchy color if the procedure is not done properly
- Changes in the appearance of the SPMU over time due to factors like sun exposure or skin aging
To minimize these risks, it's important to follow the aftercare instructions, and communicate any concerns or allergies you may have. It's always a good idea to do thorough research and consult with a professional before getting SPMU. Safety first!
How much does SPMU cost?
The prices for all the procedures are above in the price table, I often have offers so do not hesitate to text me for information!
Remember, it's an investment in enhancing your natural beauty!
What should I expect during the SPMU procedure?
During the SPMU procedure, you can expect the following:
1. Consultation: You'll have a consultation with me to discuss your desired look, shape, and color. I will also assess your skin and answer any questions you may have before we start.
2. Numbing: A numbing cream or gel may be applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
3. Design and Mapping: I will carefully measure and map out the shape of the SPMU to ensure symmetry and a natural look. You'll have the opportunity to provide input and make adjustments if needed.
4. Pigment Application: Using a handheld device with a fine needle, the chosen pigment into the skin will be deposit. I will work in small sections, layering the pigment to achieve the desired color and intensity.
5. Discomfort: You may experience some discomfort during the procedure, but the numbing cream should help minimize it. Some people describe it as a slight scratching or vibrating sensation.
6. Healing and Aftercare: After the procedure, the treated area may appear slightly swollen, red, or darker than expected. This is normal and will subside over time. I will provide you with aftercare instructions, which may include avoiding certain activities, applying ointment, and protecting the area from sun exposure. Remember, every person's experience may vary slightly, but I will guide you through the process and ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
Can I get SPMU if I have certain skin conditions or allergies?
If you have certain skin conditions or allergies, it's important to communicate this to your technician. I will be able to assess your specific situation and determine if it is safe for you to proceed with the procedure. I may also recommend alternative options or adjustments to accommodate any sensitivities or concerns you may have.
Your safety and well-being are the top priority!
How long does the healing process take and what should I do to take care of it?
The healing process for SPMU typically takes about 7 to 28 days. During this time, it's important to follow the care instructions that I will give you.
Can I get SPMU if I have existing tattoos or permanent makeup?
Sure! You can still get SPMU even if you have existing tattoos or permanent makeup. However, it's important to have a consultation before to analize your specific situation and determine the best course of action. I will consider factors like the color, location, and condition of your existing tattoos or permanent makeup to create a plan that achieves your desired results.
Can I get SPMU on my lips if I have cold sores or lip fillers?
If you have a history of cold sores, it's important to let me know before getting SPMU on your lips. We can take precautions to minimize the risk of triggering a cold sore outbreak. As for lip fillers, it's generally recommended to wait at least 4 weeks after getting lip fillers before getting SPMU on your lips. This allows enough time for the fillers to settle and for any swelling to subside. It's always best to consult with both your SPMU technician and your healthcare provider to ensure that it's safe for you to proceed with SPMU on your lips. We can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation.
What happens if I change my mind about the color or shape of my SPMU?
No worries! If you change your mind about the color or shape of your SPMU, there are options available. Keep in mind that SPMU is a semi-permanent procedure, so it's important to choose a color and shape that you're happy with.
However, if you're not satisfied, we can discuss your concerns. I will be able to make adjustments or offer solutions to achieve the desired result. It's always best to communicate openly and honestly with your technician to ensure you're happy with your SPMU.
What are the benefits of Semi-Permanent Makeup (SPMU)?
The benefits of Semi-Permanent Makeup (SPMU) include saving time in your daily routine, long-lasting and natural-looking results, and the convenience of having your makeup already applied.
